Activities: Dairy grazers & conservation. Tasks: returning gullies and stream areas to native bush, tree planting (winter), weed control (‘releasing’ natives) gardening, landscaping, woodwork, fencing, firewood etc.
Comments: Mainly vegetarian meals, some meat. Raw milk and lots of home baking. Aiming for a sustainable, self-sufficient lifestyle and giving something back to the land. We have dogs, cats & horses; no kids. Own room, shared bathroom. No smokers, thanks. Can pick up/drop off from Cambridge 12km. Beautiful views, bush walks & bird watching.

Comments: Just me at home on the hill, lovely views, bus very close. Own room. Hamilton 10 min bus trip away. Nau mai, haere mai.

Activities: Thoroughbred stud farm (own stallion), breeding appaloosa horses. Duties: helping with mares, foals, yearlings, stable hand, general help on farm, also help around the house.
Comments: No children living at home, sometimes overseas students staying usually short term. Very large house, 11 km from Hamilton. Own room, bathroon & toilet. Riding horses available.
Hobbies: Horse treking, going to horse races, breeding horses.

Activities: Large Appaloosa horse stud with 3 stallions (no horses for riding), some cattle and sheep. Normal farm duties depending on seasons: feeding out hay, calving, lambing, foaling, serving mares, shearing and fencing.
Comments: We also do farmstays for paying guests but normally also have room for Fhinz members. We have a large house on the west side of Hamilton, 8km from the Dinsdale shopping centre, and approx 12 km from the centre of Hamilton City.
Hobbies: Piano accordion and breeding Appaloosa horses.

Comments: Half way between Cambridge and Hamilton. We have school aged children and many animals. We appreciate self motivated people, who don't mind hard work. Accommodation usually your ‘own’ fully self contained home with basic food. However main meals are usually prepared and had together. Can pick visitors up from Hamilton bus station, or agreed place.

Comments: No children at home, daughter at boarding school. Visitors have own room, shared bathroom. Easy to find on outskirts of Hamilton, close to shops. Auckland 1 hr. Pickup Hamilton.
Hobbies: Meeting people, car racing, tennis & golf.

Activities: Macadamia Orchard. Harvest - Mid June to End August (approx) – good level of fitness required. Help with processing from 2006 October through to March (approx). Working holiday visa required.
Comments: Stand alone accommodation facility next to main dwelling. Own kitchen toilet and bathroom, can sleep 2 singles or two couples. Also have a spare room in the house if required. Teenage daughter still living at home. Can collect from bus at Morrinsville, Ngatea, Thames or Hamilton. Family beach house at Cooks Beach 1¼ hour away. Many tourist attractions nearby including thermal pools and bush walks.
Hobbies: hockey, entertaining friends/family, mountain biking and fitness.

Activities: Small family camping ground. Help needed for the Christmas holidays, general camp duties.(e.g.- cleaning,reception,). We need a people person, preferably female.
Comments: Stay in a cabin, bathroom facilities will be shared with us in our flat. Kawhia is unspoiled with it's own hot water springs on the ocean beach. Nearest city is Hamilton. Pick up can be arranged.
Hobbies: Surfcast fishing, music, making jewellery and reading.

Comments: 2 teenagers, 3 cats & 1 dog. Large house with squash court, pool table; swimming pool; large grass area for outdoor games. Farm on main state highway can pickup from Te Awamutu or Otorohanga. Waitomo caves 30 min, beaches 1½ hr, Lake Arapuni 30 min, Mt Maungatautari 30 min (bush walks & Mt biking).
Hobbies: Fishing, water sports, squash (daughter) & tennis; cricket (son).

Comments: We are a young couple with 1 pre-schooler, non smokers. Accommodation is a sleepout with toilet & shower in house.
10 km to Waitomo Caves. Car useful to see & do lots of fun activities. Can pick up from either Otorohanga or Te Kuiti.

Activities: Sheep and cattle farm. Cleaning, painting, weed control, pruning, firewood, house help, moving & droving stock, building & repairs, handy with hammer and saw? No skills needed, just a good heart and mostly working alongside me out on the farm.
Comments: Bachelor farmer in an old style home. Pickup from bus, Piopio 4 km. Te Kuiti 30 km. Must have respect for each others privacy. Sociable, easy going, enjoy conversation & a laugh. Available for use: bicycle/helmet, internet & e-mail. Occasionally travel to shops or sheep and cattle sales in nearby towns.

Activities: Dairy goats, housed indoors in a loafing barn. Help with odd indoors and out eg. assist with the odd milking, feeding out, gardening, painting etc.
Comments: Couple in early 50s, easy going and get along with people of all ages. Two young grandaughters come to stay often. Vistors have a room of there own. Near Maungatautari Mountain, a native bird reserve and walking tracks. About an hours drive to several main cities and tourist attractions. Pick up from Te Awamutu (closest town).

Comments: Children have left home. Stay in family home in shared twin room. Home cooked meals. Can collect from Putaruru 4km or Tokoroa 20 km. Centrally located close to Rotorua and Taupo. We offer overnight parking for motorhomes.

Comments: 4 daughters (baby – pre teen). Have own room, vehicle available, WiFi. Peaceful secluded place near great river, bush, surf (Raglan 15 min). Can pick up from Hamilton or Raglan. Good meals with own veges, eggs & meat.
Hobbies: Surfing.

Activities: Dairy farm milking 480 cows. Gardening and running kids to and from school would be the main duties.
Comments: We have a few kids, none on special diets. You will have your own room. Nearest town 5 km. We have horses which love being ridden. Near hot pools, snow only 1 hr. Sumiyo loves to talk in Japanese.
Hobbies: Horse riding, duck shooting, rugby, and snow boarding. Having fun on and off the farm as a family.

Comments: We are in our 50s, family have left home and we always enjoy having overseas visitors. Visitors stay in family home. Farm in the hills, tramping at doorstep. Near hot spa pools. Easy acess to buses to Rotorua.
Hobbies: Bush walks and fishing.

Activities: Intensive sheep (2000) and cattle (900) farm. We fatten all stock on the farm. 4-8 hours work/day.
Comments: 2 sons working on the farm. Judy has a computer business. 2 large homes on property (one for son) plus shearer's quarters. Putaruru 30 mins, Te Awamutu 45 mins, Taupo 50 mins Taupo and Rotorua. Can usually pick up from one of these towns. Abseiling and rock climbing nearby.
Hobbies: Waterskiing, trout fishing & snowboarding.

Comments: Stay with us in our 5 bedroom house or in a fully furnished 4 bedroom house on farm. Closest town Putaruru 30min, Te Awamutu 45 min; spare car available to use. We are a young fun couple with 2 children, who really enjoy meeting people from around the world. Our farm goes on to lovely Lake Arapuni.
Hobbies: Rugby, horses, sports, anything and everything!

Comments: One high school son at home, other away at polytech. Single room or double room may be available for accomadation. TeAwamutu is nearest town for bus pickup. While here you will be part of our family activities.
Hobbies: Church most Sundays, tramping, rockclimbing or 4WD.

Comments: Remote coastal property, own transport is essential. We have 2 toddlers and we have a self contained holiday home (if not booked) or a double room in our house. Our nearest town is Otorohanga, Waitomo Caves about 50 mins drive away. Near fishing, surfing, whitebaiting, and fossil collecting. 5hr tramp and other neat walks (pa site etc) on the farm.
Hobbies: Gardening and rugby.

Activities: Horse trek business, farmstay lodge and hill country sheep farm. Helper will be mainly cleaning the lodge and our house.
Comments: We live at 1000 ft above sea level, very beautiful spot, 20 minutes to Raglan, 50 minutes to Hamilton. Two preschool children and busy lifestyle. We prefer a Japanese girl, who will have own room and internet access. Need to be used to cleaning, getting hands dirty and good with children. Interest in horses good but not essential.
