Activities: Dairy farm. General farm maintance, tidying up, calf rearing in spring, fencing, weed control, etc Interior house painting.
Comments: Myself & my worker (both males), live in a 90 year old cottage. There is a room for guests. Irish pub/cafe 20m down road. We take what we can to live off the farm. Palmerston North 30 km away.
Hobbies: Music and bush walks.
 
Feilding P P
Activities: Sheep, cattle crops-grain conservation. Bee hives. Help in home and on farm.
Comments: Collect from Marton/Bulls/Palmerston North. Bush walks and gardens. Library of good books and videos available. Very old farmhouse in rolling hills and woodland. Grandchildren sometimes visit. Stay in my home with shared bathroom.
 
Hunterville R&R M
Activities: Dairy farm - work would involve helping with calves (spring), milking, tractor work & other general farm work.
Comments: We are a family with two young children. Accommodation in our home - suits a single person but we could take a couple or two friends (sharing a room). Closest town in Hunterville (13 km).

Activities: Hobby farm. General house and garden maintenance. Window cleaning, painting, gibstopping, wallpapering. Tree and post holes, cutting kindling, thistle grubbing, firewood, barrowing soil. What are your skills? Painter, builder, solar tech? Build boxed ga
Comments: Semi organic, can host meat eaters or vegetarians. Stay in self contained caravan. One adult and one child is ok. Tank water, solar shower, indoor and outdoor toilets and bathtubs. Near golf course and river. Pickup from bus 5 km, nearest small town 15 km. Non smokers please.
Hobbies: Gardening, preserving jam, winemaking, environmental artist, entrepreneur, trader, pottery, guitar & sing.
 
Kimbolton A&F M
Activities: Sheep and beef hill country farm. Help with childcare, cooking, cleaning, gardening, painting, odd jobs, weed/pest control, scrub cutting, farm work. Some paid possible depending on tasks and skills.
Comments: We have 2 preschool children, cats & dogs. Stay in self contained unit. We can handle allergy friendly diets (with advance warning) but do eat meat most nights, prefer non-smokers. Can pick up from closest towns (Taihape, Feilding, Hunterville) 35-40 min. We have wireless satellite internet, but no cellphone coverage (available from nearest hilltop). Near the Ruahine Ranges, fly fishing river 10 min. Ski slopes 1hr 40mins, Lake Taupo 2 hr.
 
Kimbolton D&K E
Activities: Dairy, dry stock & forestry farm. Help with dairy farm activities, feeding hay, rearing calves, cowshed hygiene & stock work. Also weed control, fencing, firewood, painting & tree planting. Need to be willing to get stuck in & experience real farm life!
Comments: First baby due Nov 2008. Fantastic views of the Ruahine mountain ranges, and the Oroua river bounds the property. House under renovation. Excellent home cooked meals. Warm room in family home with shared bathroom. Non smokers please.
 
Levin L N
Activities: A small block run on organic principals. Lots of different animals, gardens. Breed beef cattle. Jobs dependant on experience, range from gardening, general farm/garden maintenance/ handiwork. Sometimes I have projects on the go eg fencing or building.
Comments: Accommodation upstairs in home, choice of double or single beds. Vegetarian o.k. Prefer mature travellers/ couples. 8kms from town. Property borders on to river. Nice walks.
Hobbies: Anything creative, movies, music, theatre, art, photography.
 
Levin B&R W
Activities: Lifestyle block with Dexter cattle, Dorper & Texel Sheep & Welsh Mountain Ponies. General maintenance, cutting wood, outside painting. Nothing requiring experience.
Comments: Couple with no children at home. Visitors will have own room. Pick up from bus stop or station. 1½ hr to Wellington.
 
Mangaweka V&N T
Activities: Cattle & sheep stock work on hill country farm. General farm work: building maintenance, fences, firewood etc. Also farmstay business for self-contained & in-house guests: house preparation, clean, garden, dishes etc. Helpers need to be fit & willing.
Comments: No children at home. Quality double / twin room with ensuite and kitchenette. Can meet bus at Mangaweka 9km. Close to hiking trails, river for rafting, kayaking and fishing, and the NI highest bungy jump.
Hobbies: Gardening, golf, travel.

Comments: Original 1880’s homestead, Marton 11km, Wanganui ½ hr.. Stay in own bedroom & have use of entire house. Trips to town most days. Stress free environment, fantastic views. 3 friendly dogs & 4 cats. Also small pet minding business so may have extra dogs or look after other peoples animals at their place. Look forward any self sufficiency ideas. Hobbies: Horses, dogs, animals & gardening.

Activities: Sheep, deer and beef farm, 2 horses. Farm work: repair and maintenance, fencing, stock work, grubbing. Also housework, child minding, gardening etc.
Comments: 4 children (preschool – primary) are home educated. We are christians with a busy lifestyle. Prefer non-smokers. Pick up from bus at Flat Hills, Ohingaiti. River frontage for trout fishing (requires a license). Stay in 4-berth caravan along side our house. Torch useful (no streetlights).
Hobbies: Sea/trout fishing, skiing, hunting.
 
Palmerston North G&B I
Activities: Thoroughbred horse stud. Includes handling foals yearlings, mares & general farm activities depending on time of year.
Comments: Close to Palmerston North. Couple with 3 adult children who have left home. Stay in own room.
Hobbies: Collecting jaguar cars, racing pigeons.
 
Palmerston North J B
Activities: Organic – biogrow registered, beekeeping, sheep, beef, stone and berry fruits. Amenity gardening and horticultural experimentation. Fodder, duck and duck egg production. Domestic and household work. 2-4 hours work/day.
Comments: I live alone or with housemate(s). Family & partner live in Wellington, visit often. No smoking inside. Stay in detached unit (prefer) or in house. Guests need to be able to cook, not just assemble food, cook at least 3x/week. Palmerston North 10 min away with cosmopolitan university town. Ranges close for tramping. Central to everything in lower North Island.
 
Palmerston North G&W S
Activities: Sheep farm. Help with sheep, firewood, fencing, gardening and building.
Comments: Travelled extensively overseas and around NZ. Own room but share bathroom. Good NZ home made food. 10 mins to Palmerston North. Call for pick up details.
Hobbies: Four wheel drive and photography.
