Activities: Lifestyle, grazing dairy heifers, hay, silage and maize. Also self contained barn style holiday accommodation. Duties would include general light farm work including weed spraying, fencing maintenance, gardening, or housework as required.
Comments: Couple with 2 preschool children. Property on shores of Lake Karapiro, close to Maungatautari Mountain (an ecological NZ native island). 10 min to Cambridge. Central to tourist attractions including Hobbiton, Waitomo caves, Lake Taupo.
Hobbies: Water skiing, kayaking, swimming, motor cycle riding, cycling, tramping and bush walking.
 
Crownthorpe L&J A
Activities: Large scale (200 ha) vineyard. Main focus for visitors will be maintaining gardens, looking after family pets and organic vegetable plots. Experience with horse-breaking, organic gardening, house painting or carpentry would be especially welcome.
Comments: Must like children, we have 2 young children. Stay in separate self-contained accommodation close to our home, share kitchen & ablutions with workers during week. Mostly home cooked meals and home baking. We speak French. Swimming pool available in summer. Horse and ponies for riding. Hastings and Taradale 30km. Local attractions: jet-boating, clay-bird shoot, horse-riding, fishing, wine-tasting, tennis, the Whanawhana Walk, horse-trekking. Can pick up from bus Napier, Hastings or Taradale.
 
Dannevirke S M
Activities: Sheep, cattle, deer, woodturning, crafts, antler products, shearing, haymaking. Visitors will help alongside me.
Comments: Single man with 4br home. Great views with farm at 850 m high. 36km to Dannevirke. Can collect.
Hobbies: Woodturning, tramping, hunting, caving, sunsets and bushwalks.
 
Dannevirke D&M T
Activities: House & garden maintenance, light housework, stock work with various animals and help with home baking business. Any outdoor skills a help but not necessary, just a willing attitude needed. Can arrange farm visits with neighbouring large run holders.
Comments: Pick up from Napier or Palmerston North. Stay in own room with shared facilities - double bed or twin singles. Hosts are married couple and farm worker, all active and fun loving. Will show you places of interest; close to the longest place name. Meals based on own produce, help with cooking welcome.
Hobbies: Fishing, walking, gardening, hunting, baking , socializing and a mad hill climb.
 
Dannevirke R&S K
Activities: Developing sheep and beef farm. General farm work, stock work, painting, fencing, firewood and housework.
Comments: Pickup from Dannevirke (30km). Self contained, 2 bedroom, Lockwood home. Local attractions include, caving, glow worms, fishing, deer stalking, bushwalks, swimming, spa pool and golf.
Hobbies: Meeting people, family, shearing, farming, the gym, gardening, travelling, reading etc.
 
Dannevirke J R & R B
Activities: Portable saw mill. Sheep, cattle, hens, craft and patchwork. Gardening, housework. Boating.
Comments: Big old (140 year) homestead in lovely grounds on the coast with sea views. Collect from Waipukarau or Dannevirke. Great home cooking with sea food. We enjoy helping students learn English. One pet dog, 2 cats.
Hobbies: Sea and trout fishing.
 
Hastings M H
Activities: Breeding miniature horses, sheep, 1 hack for riding. Help with training show miniatures, housework, gardens etc.
Comments: New home with an outstanding view. Only 5 min from Havelock North Village and 15 min to nearest beaches. Hawkes Bay is the fruit bowl of New Zealand and producing some of the worlds finest wines.
 
Hastings D&C L
Activities: Petting zoo, open to the public. Animals include pigs, sheep, goats, llamas, deer, ostriches and more. We have 6 horses and ponies and do pony rides and riding lessons. We also have an apple orchard and breed pigs. Help in the zoo and domestic work.
Comments: We have a large home. Visitors have double beds, TVs and lots of good farm food. Close to beach, shop, pub. 15 mins to Napier and Hastings. 2 children at home.
Hobbies: Tramping, horse riding, camping and fishing.
 
Hastings D S
Activities: Care of animals, tree planting, gardening, carpentry, fencing, thistle grubbing.
Comments: Quiet country location 50 km from nearest shops, pubs in Hastings. No public transport can pick up from Hastings on weekly visit to town. Near Napier (art deco city) and Cape Kidnappers gannet colony. Good place to relax & recharge your batteries.
Hobbies: Sailing, long distance hiking, scuba diving, permaculture, travel, art, classical music.
 
Haumoana J S
Activities: Semi rural small block, mandarins, fruit trees, large garden. Garden maintenance, mowing, weeding, pruning, picking, housekeeping. Have domestic pets only. Prefer persons who are mature and practical.
Comments: Mum (teacher) and daughter (uni student) house, very private, sunny, own room. Surrounded by vineyards, 500m from beach, 5km from gannets, 13 km from Napier. Can collect at Clive.
Hobbies: Music, art, gardening and beach.
 
Havelock North C H
Activities: Hobby farm, 3 horses, 4 cows. Repair fences, feed hay, groom horses, gardening, windows & just about everything.
Comments: No children at home. Visitors have own room with ensuite. Nearest town Havelock North.
 
Havelock North T&N P
Activities: Vegetable organic garden. Help with gardening, organic vege garden, lawns, cooking, and light housework.
Comments: Busy house near Havelock Nth, both work. Near wineries, beaches and village. 5 min to Hastings, 20 min to Napier. 4 girls in family.
Hobbies: Nearby beach house, sport and fishing. Well travelled and we welcome visitors. Internet access.
 
Havelock North F M
Activities: Glasshouses and plastic house: capsicums. Pruning, winding up on strings, harvesting and preparing for next crop.
Comments: Visitors stay in unit with bedroom, kitchen, dining, shower and toilet. 2 bikes available to enable visitors to ride to town, 2.3 km from Havelock Nth and 5 km from Hastings. Non smokers only. Can collect from Hastings. I am a retired school teacher and will help with English language.
Hobbies: Golf, equestrian events, reading and watching sport on TV.
 
Havelock North R&S K
Activities: Stock work house & gardens. Aug-Sept calf rearing.
Comments: Friendly, family, relaxed environment. However need to be prepared to work hard when required. Close to beach and vineyards. 30 minutes to town: Hastings, Havelock North and Napier. 3 children in our family one at home.
Hobbies: Rugby, animals, meeting people, farming, shearing competitions and cooking.
 
Havelock North S D & K M
Activities: Sheep and cattle farm. Housework, gardening, sheep and cattle work, raising lambs, painting, fencing and general farm work. Visitors work 8.30 am-1 pm and are free in the afternoons. One day off each week if staying longer than 2 weeks.
Comments: Picturesque farm by swimming and trout river. Swimming pool and tennis court in summer. One teenage daughter at home. Sandra works in town 4 days/week including running a bead shop in Napier. We also have a farm in Taihape that we may take visitors to for a few days. Collect from Hastings or Napier by arrangement. Separate nice, new, sunny, warm and pleasant accommodation single, share twin or double. Couples very welcome. Havelock North village and Ocean Beach just 15 min away by car.
 
Meeanee D L
Activities: Preparing & showing ponies for showing & show jumping. Assist with mucking out, travel to shows, general tidying & maintenance, painting of fences, harrowing of arena, general housework. Possibility of competing at shows.
Comments: Extended family – 4 generations. Visitors will have there own room. Art Deco Napier City 6 km. Pick up anywhere from Napier or Hastings.
Hobbies: Horses & ponies.
 
Napier F&G C
Activities: Farm hostel and horse trekking business run in conjunction with our sheep and cattle farm. Work would be mainly exercising and grooming horses, taking overseas visitors on horse treks. Some gardening, lawn mowing and hostel cleaning.
Comments: Stay in farm hostel (own room but may need to share when hostel particularly busy). Hostel has full kitchen facilities so meals would be self service but some food would be provided depending on hours worked. 30km from Napier, own transport is recommended. Two nice beaches and good bush walks in area.

Activities: Horticulture: apples, melons, pumpkins, peas, sweetcorn, maize & courgettes. Show ponies (travel most weekends Sep-Apr). Help with housework, gardening, baby minding, helping with ponies. Prefer someone with horse experience, must love horses and childr
Comments: 4 children pre school-primary. Vegetarians welcome but they must cook. The room is off the house, double bed with T.V but other facilities shared with family. Can pick up from Havelock North 25 min, Taradale 5 min, Hastings city 15 min or Napier 20 min. Bicycle and helmet available, we go to town at least once a week. At times stay in one of our beach houses (40 min/1 hr).
Hobbies: Hunting (horseback), jet boat, eeling, scuba diving, deer-stalking, duck shooting rugby & cake decorating.

Activities: Sheep, housework, childcare, gardening, farm-work.
Comments: We are a busy family who enjoy overseas visitors company are happy for visitors to join in with us. 3 children in family.
Hobbies: Beach, parties, pet animals, gardening.

Activities: Sheep and dairy beef plus equine behaviour, breeding and rehabilitation. Assist with moving cut scrub off paddocks, removal thistle and ragwort, mowing lawns and vegetable gardening. Visitors can observe activities with horses in their spare time.
Comments: Remote location. Active middle-aged couple with family overseas. Own room or share with travelling companion. We enjoy hearty healthy meals, good wine and intelligent conversation. Local beach 20 min. No cell phone or T.V. coverage on farm but have an extensive film library. We are pleased to answer questions.
Hobbies: Art, painting, bush walks, wildlife photography, psychology, historical and documentary films.
 
Porangahau T&J H
Activities: Farm forestry, calf rearing, deer and chooks. Pruning trees, firewood, painting, removing tree thinnings and shifting stock.
Comments: Adult children have left home. Stay in sleepout. Property in pine forest (warning for bad sinus or hayfever), 3 min to beach, 35 min from Waipukurau. Boats may be arranged. Eat seafood, home grown veges/meat and free range eggs.
Hobbies: Golf.

Activities: Sheep, beef, deer, horses, donkeys, goats & pig. Gardening, farmwork, with horses, help in house and with little boy.
Comments: Couple with young son. Own room double beds ensuite toilet and sink share bath and shower. Longest place name borders property. Beautiful beaches within 10 min drive, 40 min from Waipukarau. Pick up from Waipukarau with notice. Peaceful farm set within lovely gardens. Casual and well travelled, live a relaxed lifestyle and we enjoy sharing our farm.
Hobbies: Horses, computers, garden, animals and meeting new people.

Hobbies: Rugby, golf, motorcycling and frequenting the pub.

Activities: Dairy farming activities: milking cows and rearing calves, work will depend on interests.
Comments: 3 preschool aged children, so you should enjoy young children. Easy going family; large house, private accommodation available. Can pick up from Waipukurau 25 km. Near Ruahine ranges: mountain biking, fishing (nearby stream), scenic walks. Near gym, sports arena, plenty of horses if interested.
Hobbies: Fishing, mountain biking, snowboarding, anything outdoors, farming way of life and enjoy meeting people.
 
Waipawa C&M M
Activities: Avocado orchard. General labour. Any building trades welcomed. Repairs and maintenance on historic buildings.
Comments: Historic sheep and cattle coastal property 1½ hr south of Napier, 35 min east of Waipawa. Separate beachfront accommodation.
 
Waipawa M F
Activities: A small intensified hard working farm. Poultry, Wessex Saddle back pigs, cattle & breeding ponies. (No horse work unless very experienced). Help with garden, cleaning animal shelters, feeding, general odd jobs. Work 4-6 hrs for meals & board.
Comments: Own self contained room with in stable complex, T.V. fridge, clean & tidy. Most meals are meat based. Opportunity to travel some places with me. Walking & relax in free time. 3km from small village, no local transport. Pick up in Waipawa.

Activities: Lifestyle block, agri-business and home office. Help with landscaping, gardening, childcare, home help, firewood, painting fences, picking up horse poo, caring for animals, horse care, computer skills, artistic talents, flexible around visitors skills & i
Comments: Stay in warm comfortable room with a double and a single bed; share family bathroom. 3 boys and 3 girls in family. Bicycles available. Close to nountain bike trails and good river banks for cycling and trout fishing. Pick up from nearby Waipukurau. Nice pubs, movie theatre, gym & pool in town.
Hobbies: Gardening, walking, horse riding, socializing, dancing, meals/ talking to friends/travelers.
 
Woodville P&A M
Activities: Dairy farm: activities depend on season but milking cows, fencing, tractor work, welding, pasture management etc.
Comments: 3 young children at home, need to be tolerant and friendly. 3 farms owned by family, each farmed differently. No smoking/alcohol in our home. Collect from Woodville (walking distance). Stay in family home.
Hobbies: Music is major hobby with 3 piece band.
