Activities: Sheep, beef, deer and horse breeding hill country farm. Fencing, mustering, weed control, handling of young horses and training, general animal husbandry jobs, house work, gardening, gear maintenance.
Comments: 2 teenage children, one at boarding school. Typical New Zealand farm meals. Near native reserves, native birds, pigs, deer, tramping, canoeing, trout and eel fishing. You will have your own separate bedroom. Seasonal local activities:sports days, polo cross, wood chopping. Prefer that you have your own car. Nearest towns, bus & trains: Taumarunui, Owhango and National Park.
Hobbies: Eventing, Pony Club, pig hunting.

Activities: Dairy farm, 650 cows. Work depends on the time of year eg calf rearing (Aug-Oct), milking, water blasting buildings and machinery, fencing, gardening/landscaping, some housework and cooking too.
Comments: Warm friendly family environment. 2 teenage daughters. Nearest town is Taupo 35kms away ...we visit at least weekly and can pick up helpers by arrangement. Ideal for people with their own transport ... Mt Ruapehu 70 min, Rotorua 50 min, and near Pureora Forest park and it's walking tracks. No smokers. Some dietary requirements ok but prefer not vegetarians.
Hobbies: Artist with small studio, banjo, piano, guitar, scuba diving and cooking.

Activities: 180 bed backpacker lodge, we also breed horses, lessons for learners and horse treks for approved riders. Daily horse care and cleaning of the lodge. Good variety of work and we provide skis and snow boards to helpers who wish to use them.
Comments: Special diets must be informed in advance. Helpers with children can be considered too. National Park Village 6km, pick-up available upon request.
Hobbies: Horse-riding, cooking, working on the lodge, snowboarding, tramping, playing pool, air hockey and fuseball in our Games Room.

Activities: Sheep farm. Help with gardening, care for pet lambs, poultry, goat, horse, dogs, calves. Docking & drenching sheep.
Comments: 3 children, 2 primary aged and one at boarding school. Stay in own room in our house or possibly use own house within walking distance. Pick up from Raetihi 4km. Ohakune 4km, Mt Ruapehu ½ hr, Lake Taupo 1 hr, Wanganui 1 hr. Near fishing, skiing, tramping, boat/kayak trips, clay bird or rabbit shooting, horse trekking & water skiing.
Hobbies: Gardening, farm activities, kids sports, reading, photography.

Activities: Horse trekking and organic vegetable garden farm, also small motel, licenced restaurant. Gardening, horse care, trekking, general farm work, maintenance, painting, restaurant and indoor tasks. Visitors must have an interest in horses & be competent ride
Comments: Property adjoins State Forest park. Great mountain views and walk to National Park. Ski and snowboard in winter. 4 children in family. Accommodation shared with other visitors either separate area of house or caravan on site. You are welcome to ride in your spare time.
Hobbies: Gardening, skiing and snowboarding.

Activities: 3300 sheep and 100 beef cows. Seasonal farm work: mustering, docking, shearing, animal care and weed control. Also gardening, painting and firewood. Help with doing up a 3 bedroom house to turn into a guest house – builders welcome!
Comments: Visitors stay in a spare bedroom in 3 bedroom house. We enjoy people staying and mix work with some play. People who can handle isolation, physical work and adventure have a great time but it is not for the faint hearted!
Hobbies: Sport, photography, gardening, arts and horse-riding.

Activities: Bee keeping, 400 hives. Sheep, trees, hobby farm, gardens. Building up hives (spring), honey harvesting (autumn) and building hives (wet days). Must be prepared to work with bees – protective gear provided.
Comments: Close to Tongariro and Whanganui National parks. Only 1 week if 2 people, longer for 1 person. Children have left home. We work long hours in spring and autumn, more relaxed in summer and winter. Must be able to take instructions from a female. Hot heavy work in autumn (lifting 25 kg while dressed in bee kit).
Hobbies: Mountain and bush walks.
