Activities: Beef & sheep farm, large vege garden, mowing lawns, weed control, painting, fencing and farm maintenance.
Comments: 3 primary school aged children. Own self contained unit with full facilities. Kaitaia 9 km, close to beaches and lake. Can pick up from bus stop. Must be able to work unsupervised.
Hobbies: Most sports, fishing, beaches, boating & the outdoors.
 
Awanui G&A M
Activities: Horticulture. Work in avocado tree nursery and establishing trees including subtropical fruit, pine and eucaplyptus. General farm and house work.
Comments: Pickup visitors from Kaitaia, ring 2-3 days ahead to confirm arrival. Close to the beach. * Need sufficient English to understand instructions.
Hobbies: Includes fishing and swimming.
 
Baylys Beach P&N S
Activities: Horse treks business. Visitors must be experienced with horses. Help look after horses, take horse treks, communicate with guests, as well as help clean the Lodge, vacuum pool and weed the gardens. Possibly trained for a bit of reception work.
Comments: Currently adult daughter and primary aged child staying with us. Visitors have own room and own bathroom. Quad bikes can be hired for the beach. Near lakes (20 min) and largest Kauri tree (40 min). Pick up from Dargaville (10 min).
Hobbies: Twilight golf, fishing and riding horses down the beach.
 
Brightwater JJ & DW
Activities: Bed and breakfast accommodation, surrounding acres are leased out. Help mainly with gardening.
Comments: No resident children, Burmese cat rules. Visitor’s room has en suite. Pick up from bus at nearest town Richmond, 8k or Nelson airport. Broadband available.
Hobbies: Skiing, swimming, chess, home/garden improvement and yoga.
 
Christchurch J M
Activities: Accommodation for overseas visitors. Require groundswork, gardening, vegetable growing, building maintenance, outdoor living construction, urban fencing, driveway maintenance.
Comments: This is a city location. Single NZ'er with up to 11 flatmates from other countries. Single or double room within house. This deal is accommodation only, share facilities to do own food.
Hobbies: Long distance running, music, marketing.
 
Dargaville M&C Y
Activities: Sheep & Beef. Shifting stock, docking, spraying, clearing fences, seasonal farm work, gardening, housework, painting, cooking, general help on farm and house. Must speak fluent English.
Comments: 3 busy teenage children. Large home with own bedroom and toilet, share family meals. Dargaville 20 min, 40 min Whangarei, 30 min to Baylys Beach. Lovely farm walks, can see NZ from coast to coast.
Hobbies: Rugby, netball, mountain bikes, gardening, sewing, cooking and entertaining.

Activities: Not a farm: stained glass & timber restoration business in Dargaville (Inspiration Centre). Learn restoration skills: cut glass, reglaze, remove old putty & glass, restore doors & windows. Help with general house work, cleaning and cooking.
Comments: Single christian lady in my 40's. No smoking, drinking or drugs. Enjoy home comforts: a large bedroom with 2 new king size single beds, clean accommodation, good meals, TV, poodles & view of the river. 500m to town, great tourist spot, plenty to see and do. If own car, they can borrow kayaks & take them to the lakes.
Hobbies: Art, fishing, travel, reading & poodle breeding.
 
Dargaville D&C B
Activities: Sheep, beef (calf rearing & bulls) farm with miniature horse stud. Painting, gardening, housework, fencing and woodwork.
Comments: 2 children at home. Self contained bunkhouse attached to homestead, meals with family. 20 minutes from Dargaville in a quiet valley. Can collect from Dargaville.
Hobbies: Pony club, miniature horses and horse shows.
 
Hikurangi MW
Activities: 400 macadamias trees. Varied flexible work: planting, clearing, mulching, pruning, fencing, painting, helping around the house. Most of the time we will be working together, no experience necessary.
Comments: SMOKE FREE only. All food provided & vegetarians will be catered for, meat is eaten but in limited supply (I am careful about the origins of my meat). I'm semi-vegetarian and eat healthy, wholesome food. Maybe you have an interesting dish from home you would like to prepare?
Hobbies: Tramping, beaches, fishing, living life to the full.
 
Hikurangi C&D L
Activities: Dairy farm (500 cows) and kumara growing. General farm work, caring for horses, helping in the house.
Comments: Family with 6 children, visitors have own room, 20 min from Whangarei city, ½ hr to Bay of Islands. Pick up from Hikurangi (10 min).
Hobbies: Horse riding, motor racing, motor bike riding, soccer and beaches.
 
Hikurangi T A
Activities: Beef, sheep, ducks, chooks, pigs and dogs. Gorse removal, clearing fence-lines, gardening, mowing lawns, shifting cattle, feeding animals and painting.
Comments: Couple with older teenage daughter at home. Mostly home grown food (also home brew). Own room in separate living area, with limited kitchen facilities. Use of all facilities in the house. 10-20 min to many beaches. Pick up from Whangarei - 25 min. You may wish to visit our nearby 2 beach properties.
Hobbies: Fishing, diving, farming, gardening, hunting.
 
Hikurangi S&J S
Activities: Help with stock management, fencing, firewood, gardening, planting trees, rearing calves, farm maintenance.
Comments: Couple, no children at home. Striving self sufficiency: own meat, vegetables/ fruit (may help with preserving) & poultry. Pick up from Whangarei or Hikurangi. Close to coastline, hunting, fishing, walking & biking. Stay in out building with own room and toilet; eating/showering in the main house.
Hobbies: Fishing, hunting, gardening, good food, music, horse racing, animal lovers. Weekends often spent at Whangaroa Harbour.
 
Hokianga Harbour N&L K
Activities: Eco-tourism farm with budget accommodation and growing food. Assisting in Lodge, meal preparation, flower or organic vegetable gardens, landscaping, cleaning horse paddocks.
Comments: Close to Hokianga harbour, views of harbour and bush. Sleep in home or caravan, eat with family, bathroom in house or camping ground.
Hobbies: Tramping wool spinning, beach. Most food home grown organic.
 
Kaikohe W S
Activities: Not a farm. Gardening and native tree raising/planting or helping with house work or with rebuilding old kauri house.
Comments: I live alone. You will stay in the house. Beautiful beaches, bush walks. I have kayaks. Can collect from bus in Kaikohe.
Hobbies: Kayaking, fishing, bush walking and collecting seeds.
 
Kaikohe S&P H
Activities: Bull beef with 600 goats for weed control, small macadamia orchard. Fence maintainence, firewood and picking nuts.
Comments: Live adjacent to Waipoa Kauri forest, near Opononi, 80 km to Kaikohe. 15 min to beach, swimming in our river.
Hobbies: Board games, cards, spinning, weaving, knitting, computers, cooking and brewing. Prefer people fluent in English or German.

Activities: Large vegetable garden and general farm upkeep. Sheep, beef cattle and chickens.
Comments: Share house and facilities. 15 km from Kaitia, 30 min East or West coast beaches, 2 mins from Kiwi and Glow-worm park. Fishing can be arranged.
 
Kaitaia J C
Activities: Dexter cattle, poultry, kunekune pigs. Developing retreat. Gardening, pruning, compost making, fruit picking; restoring buildings & fences.
Comments: I live with my adult son. Double bedroom with adjacent twin & ensuite. Can pickup from Kaitaia (18km). DOC reserve next door, walking track nearby.
Hobbies: Mah Jong, scrabble; crossword puzzles; needlework; Extramural uni. study - counselling.
 
Kaitaia J&M W
Activities: Beef farm on hilly country, forestry. Gardening, pruning pine trees and house chores.
Comments: Basic lifestyle. 4 bedroom home. 5 min to Kiwi and Glow worm park. 30 mins to diving, surfing beaches. 2 hrs to Cape Reinga.
Hobbies: include diving and fishing.
 
Kaitaia T&R M
Activities: Run farm activities independently, maintain and build fences. 1-3 hours work/day.
Comments: We do not live on the property, but visit to look after the property. Need an independent person intending a long term stay. Stay in farm house (converted barn), buy and prepare own food when we are not there. Car available, Kaitaia 15 km, beaches 20 min. German speakers preferred.
Hobbies: Diving, fishing, hunting, boating, kayaking, paragliding, hanggliding, hiking & mountainbiking.

Hobbies: Yacht racing, surfing, possum and turkey control.

Comments: 10 km from Kerikeri by the sea. Would suit realistic, creative people with environmental and photographic interests. We appreciate non-smoking omnivores with respect for animals and wildlife. Need reasonable English level.

Activities: Hobby farm holiday home. General maintenance duties; painting, maintaining the garden, weeding along with helping replant our creek edges with native plants. We are there weekends but helpers live/work unsupervised weekdays.
Comments: Need own transport and independent. Stay in own bedrooms. Expected to provide own food when staying on your own. Surfing, snokelling & fishing a few min walk away.

Activities: Not a farm: small camping ground, which I operate on my own. Cleaning, gardening and lawnmowing.
Comments: Helpers stay in a cabin in the camp and provide their own food and can use the camp kitchen and BBQ for cooking. Good fishing, swimming, diving, surfing, walks. Kayaks, swimming pool and tennis court available. Whangarei 45 min. Pick up from town if needed.
Hobbies: Swimming, kayaking, walking, books, theatre.

Activities: Extensive vegetable and seed gardens, sell plants/seeds through different outlets. Gardening (weeding, composting and mulching, possum control, tree planting, firewood, building, plant nursery and seed cleaning).
Comments: Farm is mainly bush covered plan small community. No TV, you will share a room with other helpers who may arrive. Ring 1 week ahead for pick-up arrangements. * need sufficient English to understand instructions. Practical year or internships possible.
